    Product feature
    1. Footwear waterproofing test.
Tested both in the lab and real-world usage, NOVADRY®-equipped footwear guarantees optimum waterproofing and breathability. First, the shoe is immersed in water while internal air pressure is applied to check that no bubbles form on the surface of the footwear. Next, shoes are fitted to a mechanical arm that simulates walking, half immersed in water so we can test that the inside remains perfectly dry.
    2. 3 levels of waterproofing.
During the waterproofing test, we test 3 levels of waterproofing: 2000 flexes (around 2 hours of walking), 4000 flexes (around 4 hours of walking) and 8000 flexes (around 8 hours of walking). Of course, after this test or in use, the shoe regains its original waterproofing once dry.
    3. Shoe waterproofing level.
The Forclaz 500 Warm boot is waterproof for 8000 flexes.
    4. SNOWCONTACT technology.
SNOWCONTACT soles are made using a special component. Designs are optimised to provide excellent all-terrain grip and maximal traction all winter long. SNOWCONTACT soles are more effective than traditional soles on snow.
    5. Field tests.
All our shoes undergo comfort and use tests carried out by users who are representative of our target market, in conditions identical to those found in typical use. Our Field Test Missions team up the product manager with people who aren't affiliated with QUECHUA, to test, improve, and validate our products.
    6. Measurement of the boots' thermal insulation.
It used to be impossible to tell the exact temperature down to which your shoes would protect you. Now it can be done: the temperature limits for use are shown on your Quechua shoes. Using cold sensing tests while hiking and in the lab with a panel of customers, we measured the thermal resistance of our shoes while active and at rest. We take into account the differences in sensing cold between men and women.
    7. Lab tests.
Laboratory tests were conducted to test the following elements: attachment of eyelets and webbing, assembly, toxicology, UV resistance, sole and upper component abrasion, accelerated ageing.

    • Good boots for the price

Bought these boots for a winter trip to Switzerland and Austria. They were very comfortable in -10 Swiss temperatures, and I had no trouble with deeper, wetter, snow in Austria. Full length lacing meant that the fit was good. The grip is good, and the ankle support is good. The only knock I have is that I would have preferred the tongue to be fully sewn in; its actually sewn in to about the half way mark, in common with other boots I looked at.
      Comfort, lacing, warmth.
      Tongue not fully sewn in.

I owned these boots for few months now and I put them trough their pace in North Finland where temperature is well below -20c. These boots passed with flying colours. Kept my feet warm and dry on compact frozen snow.

I had signed up for a Ski Course @Auli,India in February. I was looking for something solid and waterproof when i came across these @Decathlon store in Thane. I quite liked the build of the shoe and decided to go for it. I don't regret it . In fact ; it was a very good decision . Turned out snowfall was less this year. So we had to climb further (roughly to the equivalent of 90 floors a day uphill ) on steep mountains to reach the ski slopes. On the way we had patches covered with sleet , slush , boilerplates & mud (not to mention dung). Both uphill & downhill , not once did I feel I was out of control or the surface would be too slippery to step on. Yea. They are also water proof. As it says on their label. A must have if you're a frequent trekker
