    • 5,600 miles and still going strong

      Matt (United Kingdom)
Used for More than 2 years
Bought these as a first pair of cleat shoes. As acknowledged elsewhere in these comments, the cleat fitting instructions is scant at best. But once you've taken the plunge and sliced off the protective part of the sole to expose the screw holes, fitting the cleats is easy. I've gone through a few pairs of shoelaces, but other than that they have been faultless. Brilliant value too.
    • Nice shoes

Although I haven't had these for long, I have no problem using them as either flat shoes or clip in with the cleats, time will tell if they survive the rigers of road cycling
    • Excellent shoes for the price

Bought these for my son aged 9. First pair of cycling shoes intended for fitting SPD cleats for road and mtb use. They appear robust enough for both types of cycling.
Agree that removing the cleat "cover" can be daunting but as long as you have a sharp enough knife (Stanley type), it didn't take too long. I scored the section a few times and then gently prised the cover off using a small flat headed screw driver and it came off easily enough. Took no more than 10 mins to do both. Son's well pleased with them.
    • How to fit cleats

      Mike (United Kingdom)
Used for 1 week or less
Well this is a bit scary. No information and no intstructions how to fit. I took a gamble based on some loose comments and think I have worked it out. Taking a blade to a brand new pair of shoes was not for the faint hearted.

A sample of what I did so you can see where I cut is at :

See if you agree. Follow at your own risk.
    • Cleats

Is there a photograph of the shoes with cleats fitted? To just take a sharp knife to a new pair of shoes seems extreme, how do you regulate the depth of the cut or avoid ruining the shows when cutting? Thanks in advance.
      Response of the brand
Thank you for your very valid question. No, there is no photo currently available with the cleats fitted, I will ask the product manager at b'Twin to create on as I believe it will be very useful.
You will need to score with a sharp stanley or craft knife in order to remove the rubber cover. Start off gently, apply even pressure as you go until it becomes loose.
