    Product feature
    1. What size should I choose?
For hiking, take the size above your usual shoe size to ensure optimum comfort when travelling downhill and to prevent your toes from hitting the end of the shoes. Tip: keep your toenails short and check that your laces stop your foot from sliding to the front of the shoes before you start downhill.
    2. Crosscontact sole
Lengthy research into the design of the sole in our laboratories, combined with a special rubber formulation which optimises the balance between traction and adhesion. The design of the Arpenaz 500 sole gives adhesion rather than traction. Traction: does not slide on loose earth (slippery or dry). Grip: prevents you from slipping on hard ground (wet or dry).
    3. Buying guide.
Try on both shoes, standing up, with the socks worn for hiking. Try on several models or sizes if necessary. Check two comfort points: the base of the heel and the front part of the foot going down. Avoid all pressure points when trying them on. Don't hesitate to walk around the store. Gradually start using you shoes during your first few hiking trips to break them in.

    • Nice shoe

      Tony (United Kingdom)
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
I'm taking on a 12 mile hike and wanted something a bit more robust than a trainer but not a full on walking boot. These shoes are canny. My only complaint is the sizes, I'm a size 10 but they only come in "half" sizes ie 8.5, 9.5, 10.5 etc. So being a size 10 the shoe is a fraction too long, but never the less still comfortable and easy to walk in.
I've only done a couple of 4 mile walks in them but had no sore areas so overall quite impressed.
    • Good shoes, light, robust, run a bit large

      Matthew (United Kingdom)
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
I normally size up a size for walking and running shoes, but I shouldn't have with these. Not a disaster, but if you're after a walking shoe and think you may need to size up to avoid squeezing in a cushioned sock, you probably don't. They're lightweight, comfortable, they seem to be robust and they're a good price.
    • Excellent dude

      Owain Hunt (United Kingdom)

Ideal approach shoes and for everyday use. Definitely buy again.
    • Smart for City walking and good grip for rambling

    • Fine for the price

      Dominic (United Kingdom)
Used for 7 to 12 months
Fine for the price, last well for around 6 months then the footbeds wear out & damage appears.
The grip is very very poor from the off unfortunately - definitely let's the shoe down.
