    1. Use temperature:
We label all of our sleeping bags with a "comfort temperature" which is tested by an independent laboratory (AITEX) in accordance with European standard EN 13537 of 11/04/2002. The "comfort temperature" is the lower temperature limit at which the user feels comfortable overall - neither hot nor cold - while lying in a relaxed position (temperature determined for an average woman under normal conditions of use). Choose your sleeping bag accordingly.
    2. What are the temperature "limits" at which it can be used?
Comfort limit temperature: The minimum temperature at which a user feels comfortable overall - neither hot nor cold - while huddled up in the sleeping bag (as determined for an average male user under normal conditions).
    3. However, here's what you need to know about temperatures:
A sleeping bag does not produce any heat. Rather, it retains the heat produced by the body. If you are tired and cold and you slip inside a cold, damp sleeping bag, you will most likely feel cold no matter how good your bag! These temperatures depend on a person's ability to withstand cold (build, fatigue, etc.), his equipment (insulating mattress, etc.), the way he is dressed (if he is naked, wearing underwear, etc.), and weather conditions (damp, wind, etc.).
    4. For greater comfort, before getting into your sleeping bag:
Dress simply (1 layer of clothing is enough). Keep your extremities warm: use hats, gloves, socks, bed warmers, rubbing, etc. A flask filled with hot water can be used as a foot or bed warmer (so long as there's no chance of it opening by accident!) Contract your muscles (70% of the energy you consume is transformed into heat) without making movements that could cause a draught. Use a sleeping bag sheet, ideally made from silk.

    • Strangulation risk- safety concern- do not buy

      08/11/2017
      Suzanne (United Kingdom)
Used for 3 to 6 months
I bought two of these and used them over the summer for my children and had been pleased with the sleeping bag. However on 24th September 2017 I was woken while camping to the sound of my daughter choking. The pull cord that tightens the “hood” has got caught around her neck and was tight and strangling her. Luckily we had some scissors to cut her free. We were very shaken up by this event and if we hadn’t been sleeping so close by to her then she would have died as she was unable to untangle herself and was not able to shout out. I contacted decathlon the next day raising my concerns about the strangulation risk of this log elasticated loop cord in a child’s sleeping bag. To date despite multiple Facebook messages and posting reviews on here I have not yet had a formal response to this significant safety concern. I have however been offered an exchange if I have my receipt. This offer was very upsetting. I have been told a manager will contact me but still no response. Appalling. DO NOT BUY.

    • Good for starting out

Bought this for our 4yr old.
He's not that used to using a sleeping bag and it took a night to get used to the confined space (he can move a fair amount in his sleep). Despite the wriggling, he woke up having slept well, the sleeping bag still generally in the position (he wasn't sleeping on the zip etc) and it kept him warm, without being too hot.
Not an expensive bag but I think it's a nice one for kids to gets started with on spring / summer camping trips.
    • Good sleeping bag for scouts.

My daughter started going for scout trips with sleeping overnight. She is happy with the sleeping bag as it is warm and soft enough to have a proper sleep. She slept in premises only but we believe that it will be fine in a tent as well. The bag also light to carry for 7 year old children.
