    2. Hood
Height can be adjusted using an elastic drawcord and toggles. Adjustable depth thanks to a rip-tab strap at the back of the hood. Shape memory visor provides good face protection.

    6. Main component
      Double-coated fabric.
    7. Technical linings
The fabric inside the sleeves is designed to manage perspiration and provide greater comfort when the jacket is worn over "bare arms" (on top of a T-shirt or another short-sleeve garment). Meshed fabric body lining to enhance the garment's breathability.
    8. Recommended additional product
Forclaz Rain overtrousers protect the lower half of your body and provide a complete and effective rain protection system for your mountain hikes. Care products: waterproofing spray or liquid in the machine To renew the fabric's water repellent properties and optimise performance throughout the lifespan of your garment.
    9. Waterproofing
NOVADRY® technology: this garment has been subjected to a shower test using 100 litres of water/sqm/hour for 3 hours. This test reproduces the conditions of a violent storm in the mountains.
    10. Waterproof component
To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we test its evaporative resistance or RET (based on the ISO 11092 standard). The lower the fabric's resistance, the more water vapour generated by physical activity evaporates, and the higher the fabric's breathability. For example: RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric / 920 = little or no breathability.
    11. Component breathability
In addition to breathable fabrics, Quechua develops technical solutions (zips, ventilation, mesh, etc.) to improve the overall ventilation of its trekking jackets and overtrousers (Forclaz, Bionnassay and Helium lines). These ventilation systems allow you to regulate the temperature inside the garment and also to facilitate the transfer of perspiration generated by the body during physical effort.
    12. Component with membrane or coating
Coating: like a layer of "paint" applied on the underside of the fabric to make it waterproof while remaining breathable. It is often less costly than a membrane, and requires a lining for protection. The membrane: is like a very fine plastic film (polyurethane) making the component waterproof while remaining breathable. It has the edge, being more supple, lightweight, durable and often more breathable than coating.
    13. Consists of 3, 2 or 2.5 layers
3 layers: the membrane is bonded to an inner and outer layer of the component. This construction helps the membrane last longer and boosts the component's performance. 2 layers: the membrane is only bonded to the outer layer, the inner protective lining is free. This construction costs less but is generally more cumbersome. 2.5 layers: the membrane has inner protection with a kind of varnish coating rather than an actual layer to make it as lightweight as possible
    14. Water repellency
A fabric is water repellent when it allows water slide over its surface without seeping in. This prevents the fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight, breathable and warm. The water repellent property is achieved by treating the fabric's exterior. This treatment must be renewed throughout the garment's lifetime (recommended after every three washes). All Quechua waterproof jackets have received water-repellent treatment.
    15. Comparative note on the environmental impact of the products
The environmental impact of each product is calculated for the product's entire life cycle, using different indicators. A general ABCDE mark is attributed to help you identify the best environmental performance by comparing products to each other (t-shirts, rucksacks, etc). Decathlon is a voluntary supporter of the environmentally-friendly labelling approach. For more information visit:

Used for 3 to 6 months
I am a big fan decathlon and in particular QUECHUA from past 7 years even before they came in India.

With great regret I am posting first ever review and that happens negative. It must be about 6-8 months I got this jacket but never had used under rain. It’s been last two days I am forced to put on additional thin jacket on top of this to protect from rain.

As pointed out the front zipper is the main culprit which leaks loads of water on chest and I had tough time protecting my valuables under the jacket - luckily I had space in scooter for the rescue.

Not only the front zipper but also the arms get wet feel quite quickly under rain.

I am from Bangalore fyi and the rain I faced wasn’t the heaviest of the falls/shower to be clear and the speed of the scooter is imaginable under rain and the present (13-Oct-2017) road conditions and the traffic.
