    7. Additional recommended products
Forclaz Rain overtrousers for protecting the lower body to complete an effective rain protection outfit designed for mountain walks. Care products: waterproof spray or wash-in waterproof liquid, to restore the fabric's water repellent properties and optimise your garment's performance throughout its lifetime.
    8. Waterproof component
We measure a fabric's resistance to water pressure by the height of a water column in mm that can be supported by the fabric (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the water pressure, the higher the waterproof rating of the fabric. Components with a 2000 mm waterproof rating can support the pressure of a 2000 mm column of water which is equivalent to a rain shower lasting two hours.
    9. Waterproof garment
This garment was passed following a 3-hour shower test under 100 L of water/m²/hr. This test reproduces the conditions of a violent storm in the mountains.
    10. Breathable component
In addition to the breathability of the fabrics used, Quechua develops technical solutions (zips, ventilation, mesh, etc.) to improve the overall ventilation of all its jackets and overtrousers designed for long-distance hiking use (Forclaz, Bionnassay and Helium lines). These ventilation systems regulate the temperature inside the garment and help eliminate the perspiration generated by the body during exercise.
    11. Membrane or coated component
The coating is like a layer of "paint" applied on the underside of the fabric to make it waterproof while remaining breathable. It is often less costly than a membrane, and requires a lining for protection. The membrane is like a very fine plastic film (polyurethane) making the component waterproof while remaining breathable. It has the advantage of being more flexible, lightweight and durable, and often more breathable than a coating.
    12. 3-layer, 2-layer or 2.5-layer component
3 layers: the membrane is bonded between the outer and inner layer of the component. This construction prolongs the life of the membrane and enhances the component's performance. 2 layers: the membrane is only bonded to the outer fabric, while the inner protective lining is loose. This construction costs less but is generally more cumbersome. 2.5 layers: the membrane is protected on the inside by a kind of varnish coating rather than an actual layer to make it as lightweight as possible
    13. Water-repellent component
A fabric's water repellent property is its capacity to repel water so that it runs off its surface. This prevents the fabric from absorbing water and keeps it lightweight, breathable and warm. A fabric is made water repellent by applying a treatment to its outer surface. This treatment must be renewed throughout the garment's lifetime (with every 3 washes). All the Quechua waterproof jackets have received a water-repellent treatment.
    14. Comparison between the environmental impact of the products
The environmental impact of the product is calculated over the entire lifecycle of the product using different indicators. An overall ABCDE rating is given to help you easily identify the most eco-friendly products by comparing similar products to each other (t-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc). Decathlon is committed to displaying environmental information. For further information:
    15. A score for comparing products' environmental impact
The product's environmental impact is calculated across its entire life cycle using different indicators. An overall ABCDE score is attributed to help you more readily identify the products with the best environmental performance by comparing the same type of product (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc.). James (United Kingdom)
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
      I'm 6'4" / 95kg and buy shirts with 38"
/XL sleeves, I'm really happy with this jacket as the cuffs come well over my wrists.
Very impressed with the quality and style of this jacket for the price point. It's kept me dry and warm with all the storms and cold winds that December/January have thrown at it, not spent a day hiking in mountain rain yet to truly test it though.
    • Very very very very very good jacket.

      Anand (India)

Best quality in very low cost.
    • Brilliant Jacket

      Michael (United Kingdom)
Used for 1 week or less
I'm 6'4"/ 190cm tall and I have to buy extra long sleeve shirts to fit me. The fact that this jacket fits me perfectly in the arms and body without being hugely baggy is something of a miracle. I bought it for the fit. Wearing it in 35mph/ -12 degs windchill on top of Fairfield Horseshoe Saturday proved its brilliance at keep out the wind and keeping the warm in. Well done Decathlon for producing a perfect jacket for tall people, does the job and at a great price!
    • Good Quality.

      John (United Kingdom)
Used for 1 week or less
It was marketed as large, but it was more like medium, was very tight and did not fit. Gave it to my grandson. Never had problems with sizes in the past from other retailers.
