    Product feature
    1. Crosscontact sole
The design of the soles has been the subject of extensive research in our laboratories, combined with a specific rubber formulation to offer the best compromise between grip and traction. The design of the sole of the Forclaz 500 Helium will offer more traction than grip. Traction: Consists of not sliding into loose ground (flat or hilly). Adhesion: consists of not slipping when on hard ground (wet or dry).
    2. Buying tips
Try on both shoes, standing up, with the socks worn for hiking. Try on several models or sizes if necessary. Check two comfort points: the base of the heel and the front part of the foot going down. Avoid all pressure points when trying them on. Don't hesitate to walk around the store. Gradually start using you shoes during your first few hiking trips to break them in.
    3. What size to choose?
When taking up hiking, do not hesitate to take a size above your usual shoe size to guarantee an optimal comfort when walking downhill and to avoid your toes rubbing the tops of the shoe. Tip: Before any descent, make sure your nails are cut and check that your laces are tied to prevent your foot from sliding forward in the shoe.
    4. Field tests
All our shoes are tested in comfort and in use, by users representative of those for whom the products are designed, under conditions identical to those that you can find in use. • Tear after 1 year not extensive use

Used for More than 1 year
The product is overall made of good quality materials, but it teared down. For this price it does not worth it.
    • Good product

The design is good and it is very comfortable. The shell is quite solid and protective. On a rainy day, I wear it and feel safe on my walking.

I like its early wear design. However, I cannot find this design again in Decathlon!
    • Quechua Forclaz 500 men's Waterproof Hiking Shoes

      19/02/2018
      Mike (United Kingdom)
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Good price, but not waterproof! Although wider than Salmon, I have to stretched them for over a week and they still give me blisters to start with. I do have wide feet, "H" according to Clarks, so no great surprise. Last pair were great for 7 out of 8 months, around 3000 miles, walking mostly on pavements.
    • The best trail shoes ever!

Used for More than 2 years
Actually a great shoe for men and women alike.....These are the best trail shoes that I have ever worn. I hike through grass, mud rocks, hard terrain and soft...they fit like a glove and have so much support and grip, even when running on the trails. If I wade through water in them, or throw them in for a quick wash, they dry easily . I loved them so much, I’m on my second pair...but it took ages for me to need a second pair as they lasted so long despite being worn constantly. Ill be sticking with these for as long as they make them.
    • Can't afford to loose out from foot

      29/12/2017
      VIKAS (India)
Used for 1 week or less
Forclaz 500 helium are the best hiking shoes even to the point that for daily usage they are awesome. Excellent comfort, breathability and at same time sturdy too. Whether tarmac, terrian, grass it goes like anything.
Only thing if plastic grips for laces and mesh are strong enough to hold for the duration as subjected to warranty.
