Product feature
  1. Inflating Power of down/feather filling
For this down jacket with its 85/15 filling, the inflating power is guaranteed to be 660 CUIN or above. The fill power is a measure of the down's thermal insulation capacity and its potential to "trap" air. Down with higher fill power takes up more space, trapping more air and providing greater thermal insulation.
  2. Feather origin
Thanks to our traceability system, we can guarantee the origin of the feathers, which are sourced in accordance with our commitments regarding responsible materials. Our suppliers are committed to using only feathers that come from ducks that are bred for their meat and which are plucked after slaughtering.
  3. The advantages of duck down and feather filling*
The down's long-lasting fill power gives it 3 important qualities for hiking: - Thermal insulation thanks to the air trapped in the down and feathers - Ultra-lightweight: with equal warmth feather is lighter than synthetic wadding. This saves even more weight in your backpack - Ultra-compressible
  4. Care instructions for jackets containing down and feathers
The down jacket can be worn throughout the winter and will certainly need to be washed. Follow our tips by clicking the link below: How to wash and dry your down jacket
  5. In the event of rain
This down jacket fabric is water-repellent. It allows drops of water to roll over the fabric, which means it takes longer for water to penetrate the jacket, giving you time to get to shelter. But the jacket is not waterproof. We therefore recommend that you wear a waterproof jacket over your down jacket in case of prolonged exposure to rain.
  6. A note to compare the environmental impact of the products
The product's environmental impact is calculated over its entire life cycle and with different indicators. An overall ABCDE score is allocated to help you more readily identify the products with the best environmental performance by comparing the same type of product (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc.). Decathlon is committed to visually displaying environmental information. For more information:

  • Not suitable for the mountains

    John (United Kingdom)
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Purchased two weeks ago from your Braehead Store. Has been worn to the office and the jacket performs well on the journey into work (on a train).

However I went on a short 8km walk in the Kilsyth Hills, max altitude around 500m, temp 1.5C, wind 16mph ESE, dry and sunny. With the wind at my back there was a cold spot around my neck despite wearing a warm hat and trying to pull the hood of my fleece up to cover my neck, the jacket rode up my back on the uphill sections resulting in the base of my back being cold, the jacket is too short at the back.

Walking into the wind the jacket has a cold spot around the neck and the length of the front could also be longer for warmth, I was cold because of this.

I was glad I tested it in a short walk in winter conditions, I don't think it lives up to being 'Designed for The mountain trekker. Over a few days in cold weather.'

Suggested improvements, increase body lenght of jacket, add hood and it will be usable in the hills.
