    Product feature
    1. Choosing your judo uniform
Judo is a combat sport that uses grappling techniques. The young judoka has to grab their opponent's uniform when attempting to throw them to the ground, and possibly immobilize them. This is why the uniform must be particularly tear resistant, with reinforced sections in areas of strain or friction.
    2. What size should you choose for a child?
The size of the uniform you choose will depend on your child's height (from 100 cm to 150 cm). In keeping with tradition, the uniforms are made from cotton and have a natural tendency to shrink a few centimetres during the first three washes. This is why we recommend choosing a uniform which is 5 cm to 10 cm bigger than your child. For example, if your child is 133 cm, choose a 140 cm uniform
    3. What size should you choose for an adult?
Your height will determine the size of your uniform (from 160 cm to 200 cm). In keeping with tradition, the uniforms are made from cotton and have a natural tendency to shrink a few centimetres during the first three washes. This is why we recommend choosing a uniform which is at least 5 cm bigger than your normal size. For example, if you are 174 cm tall, choose a 180 cm uniform
    4. Which uniform for which level?
A child who is new to judo or has been doing judo for 1 to 2 years should choose a cotton or cotton / polyester gi (200 gr/sqm) that is both flexible and durable. A judoka who has been doing judo for two years (yellow or orange belt) or who is starting competitions should choose a rice-grain weave uniform which is particularly tear-resistant and designed to withstand gripping. Its polyester/cotton composition (350 g/sqm and above) results in a good post-shrinkage fit and dries quickly.
    5. Care advice
The uniform should be left out to air after each use. Regular washing will help keep your uniform white. Use cold water for the first few washes. After that, wash at no more warmer 30°C.
    6. The benefits of judo
Judo is a very physical sport: in just one session, kids will really wear themselves out. An all-round sport: as the aim is to control your opponent's body, children will use and develop all of their muscles. This sport is also a form of psychological training. It relaxes the body and mind. The word "judo" even means "gentle way".

    • Adult Judo Suit

      Amy (United Kingdom)
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
This is a decent suit, jacket is well made and durable.
However, the sleeves are much too wide and made grips difficult.
The trousers also are much smaller than expected for a 160cm and were tight.
All in all, not bad for the money but some design flaws.
Price was ok, jacket is well made
Trousers tight, sleeves too wide on jacket
