Product feature
  1. Breathability
To determine whether a fabric is breathable, we measure its evaporative resistance (test based on standard ISO 11092). The lower its resistance, the more the fabric will let water vapour produced by the body escape, and therefore the more breathable it is. For example: RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric.
  2. Waterproofness
Waterproofness is a fabric's ability to prevent rain water from passing through. A fabric's waterproofing is determined by measuring its resistance to the pressure exerted by a water column, measured in mm (test based on ISO 811 standard). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. A material with a waterproof rating of 2000 mm resists the pressure exerted by 2000 mm of water (which roughly corresponds to a 2-hour rain shower).
  3. Care tips
Machine wash at 30°C. Synthetic programme. Turn the garment inside out. Use minimal laundry detergent. Do not add softener. Line dry in a warm, ventilated area. Do not tumble dry. Do not dry clean. Do not bleach. Do not place on a heater to dry.
  4. Product tests
Our team of product designers is based at the B'Twin Village in Lille (France). All year round, we conceive and develop new products that are easy to use, look great, and have the technical features needed for your cycling experiences. They are then mercilessly put to the test by users in the field, as we are convinced that only by subjecting our products to real world conditions, such as the ones you will experience on your bike, can we continuously improve them.
  5. A rating to compare products' environmental impact.
A product's environmental impact is calculated for its entire life cycle using various indicators. Products are then given an ABCDE rating to help you easily identify products having the best environmental performance (lowest impact) by comparing different products of the same type (T-shirts, bottoms, backpacks, etc.) Decathlon voluntarily chooses to display the environmental ratings of its products. I know cycling clothing sizing can be on the small side. I am usually medium so i ordered a large. Was a non starter, think i would be either an xl or xxl in this.
Quality wise seemed ok but had to return straight away so didn't cycle in it.
    Response of the brand
The fit on this garment can be a little snug. I agree with you. Saying that, worn over a thin cycling jersey If you buy an L for your usual Decathlon cycling clothing then an L in the gilet should be fine as well.
If it's not right for you please feel free to return it for an exchange.
