Product feature
  1. What are the differences between Nordic walking and hiking?
Nordic walking is done with poles, just like hiking. However, the two activities are not carried out on the same surface, therefore you need the right equipment for each. Nordic walking is done on flat surfaces, so poles help to drive your walking movement and give the upper body a thorough workout. This is unlike hiking, which is done on steep, craggy ground, where poles are used to get a grip and avoid slipping.
  2. What are the special features of Nordic walking poles?
Wrist-straps (or gauntlets) allow you to put your thumbs through so you can let go of the poles and grab them again: the sport's key movement. The tip of the poles adapt to wet or muddy ground, metal tips allow the pole to penetrate dry or hard ground, and rubber caps give you increased grip. Poles, preferably single-stranded, absorb vibrations and take the pressure off your joints. Nordic walking requires two poles, which is why they are sold in pairs.
  3. What are the benefits of Nordic walking?
Nordic walking is a complete and effective physical activity because it provides a workout for many of the muscles in your body.Like other sports, it offers many advantages for health and staying in shape. It is also one of the sports that has the least impact on joints while simultaneously giving your body a good workout. Finally, it can be done with poles to allow you to work out the upper body (shoulders, abs, arms). For more information, please visit

Used for 1 week or less
My poles arrived yesterday ready for my charity walk next week. To my horror...they do not collapse into 3 parts as pictured and totally unsuitable for travel. My local store is some 20mls away to which I will have to return these and I can guarantee there will not be other Nordic poles in stock there. What is your policy regarding this please? I am a new customer and totally unimpressed. I have not used them.
    Response of the brand

    Hi Pauline,
Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately none of our Nordic Walking poles are collapsible. This is not specify in any information, or any picture neither. I believe the confusion is a picture which shows three part of the products, so we will have a look at this to avoid confusion in the future.
You could return those online or in your nearest store. You have availability to order and collect in your nearest store the Trail Running Pole which is collapsible in three parts
Other option, if your walk is not Nordic Walking, and just need them for support, it will be the Hiking Poles, you have all the collection here:

Used for 3 to 6 months
I have impaired mobility due to poor balance. Nordic walking has been a revelation to me as it gives me a feeling of freedom. These poles work really well for me as they don't have too much flex in them so are good at aiding balance but are still comfortable for longer outings. I can get plenty of power through my shoulders to propel myself along and feel steady and safe

The handles are comfortable. However, I have only used them so far in cold weather while wearing gloves so I can't comment on how they cope with perspiration.

The detachable gauntlets for me are an essential feature and work well for Nordic walking technique. They are also quick and easy to click in and out.

The tips so far have done a good job of gripping soft ground as well as harder, stony paths and frozen mud. I haven't used the rubber paws much but they appear to be ok.

How could these poles be improved? I think for the price they are great value. They provide a fun walk and look as though they'll last a long time. One thing I would like is to be able to buy spare gauntlets and interchangeable tips.
