Product feature
  1. Composition
ROD - composite carbon rod - screw lock reel seat
  2. Test
The rod resistance was tested with assemblies which were 50% heavier than the tolerance indicated. However, for optimal comfort, you should use rigs that are adapted to the rod's casting weight.
  3. A BEAUTIFULLY FLEXIBLE ROD
The flexibility of semi-parabolic action rods such as the Extrem 5 makes for easier casting. Good compromise between flexibility (playing the fish) and achievable casting distance. The semi-parabolic action lets the rod bend more in the middle
  4. RING ATTACHMENT
The rings are attached via three legs. These 3-leg guides are stronger for greater resistance to heavy duty casting.
  5. RING SIZE
Guides: butt 40mm then 25mm, 16mm, 12mm. The distinguishing features of SEAGUIDE rings are that they are lightweight and highly resistant to braid. You can use braid on your reels with no fear of damaging your rings. This is a prime criterion of choice if you use braid regularly.
  6. REEL SEAT
The metal reel seat is fixed. Reels are secured on the rod by a screw locking ring
  7. WEIGHT
    355g
  8. TEST CURVE
The test curve of your rod is a gauge of two different but complementary characteristics: - The ability to resist a tensile force such as when playing a fish. -The rod's ability to cast a weight over a certain distance. The 3 lbs test curve will enable you to cast up to 100 g beyond 100m and master big fish with ease.
  9. MAINTENANCE
Everyday maintenance is simple: just clean your rods with warm soapy water, and then rinse and dry them carefully, paying special attention to the joints. This step is very important to make sure you remove any sand which can damage your rods
  10. DAMAGE AND BREAKAGE INSURANCE
THIS IS FOR YOU, WHATEVER YOUR FISHING TECHNIQUE! Insurance against fishing equipment damage has been designed specifically for your DECATHLON fishing gear. DECATHLON Sports Insurance provides new replacement cover for accidentally damaged equipment covered by the insurance. - purchase value (inc. VAT) on the sales receipt - no excess Caperlan and other brands You can take out our insurance HERE http://www.assurances.decathlon.fr/fr/assurance-peche/4-dommage
  11. IN THE EVENT OF BREAKAGE? CAN THE ROD BE REPAIRED?
After sales service is available at the workshop of your DECATHLON store. Depending on the model, tips are available in the customer support centre.
  12. CHOOSING THE RIGHT ROD FOR YOUR HEIGHT
It is often said that the longer the carp rod, the further you can cast. But it is mainly your size (and your centre of gravity) which determines how far you cast. For example, if you are less than 1.70m tall, you will find a 13 foot rod less comfortable than a 12 foot rod. It will shift your centre of gravity towards that upper part of you body. Which means it will take more effort to use and cast.
  13. PRESS-FIT TYPE
Inverted press-fit: The lower (bigger) section has a slimmer cylindrical piece added to the upper end. This spigot press-fits into the end of the upper section. The spigot joint improves the through action of the rod.
  14. TEST BEFORE BUYING
Did you know? In all Decathlon stores you can request a free 7 day loan of a product to try it out, with no obligation to buy.
  15. CAUTION!
Before casting, check that the joints are properly assembled. A badly inserted spigot is the main cause of rod breakage.
Product testing
  1. Composition
Structure : 60.0% Carbon fibre (CF), 40.0% Glass - Fibre (FG)
  2. Storage advice
Store your rod in a dry place.
  3. Product restrictions
Do not use near to electrical power sources or during storms.
  4. Product catchline
This telescopic rod is easy to transport and can be used for accurately casting your rig to a spot that is far away. The medium action reduces the risk of unhooking.
  5. Lab tested
The strength of the rod has been tested using rigs 50% heavier than the rated load. However, for optimal performance, it is essential to use rigs suited to the rod's casting weight.
