Product feature
  1. Composition
    - high-modulus carbon blank - SIC rings start 40 mm, 30 mm, 20 mm,16 mm,12 mm and 12 mm at point - metal reel seat - handle: double tapered blank
  2. Test
The rod resistance was tested with assemblies which were 50% heavier than the tolerance indicated. However, for optimal comfort, you should use rigs that are adapted to the rod's casting weight.
  3. A TOP TIP ACTION ROD
Known as "fast action". The fast action of the Extrem-9 270 allows it to bend through the last third of its length to the tip. The rod's action is reduced, making the main body of these rods quite stiff. This means that the rod's action is reduced, ie it bends less when tension is applied by fish. The advantage is that the stiffness enables long distance casting
  4. RING SIZE
SEAGUIDE rings butt 40 mm, 30 mm, 20 mm, 16 mm, 12 mm and 12 mm tip. The distinguishing features of SEAGUIDE rings are that they are lightweight and highly resistant to braid. You can use braid on your reels with no fear of damaging your rings. This is a prime criterion of choice if you use braid regularly.
  5. RING ATTACHMENT
The rings are attached via three legs. These 3-leg guides are stronger for greater resistance to heavy duty casting.
  6. REEL SEAT
The metal reel seat is adjustable. This allows you to properly balance your outfit to optimize your casting Further information on: https://www.caperlan.fr/content/comment-regler-son-porte-moulinet
  7. WEIGHT
    325g
  8. PLENTY OF POWER
The test curve of your rod is a gauge of two different but complementary characteristics: - The ability to resist a tensile force, such as when playing a fish. -The rod's ability to cast a weight over a certain distance. The 3 lb test curve will enable you to cast up to 100 g beyond 100m and master big fish with ease.
  9. MAINTENANCE
Everyday maintenance is simple: simply clean your rods with warm soapy water, and then rinse and dry them carefully, paying special attention to the joints. This step is very important to make sure you remove any sand which can damage your rods.
  10. INNOVATION: Better visibility at night
The MOON CONCEPT tip lights up when hit by UV light (MOON CONCEPT head lamp recommended) See explanatory video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OguuKteN11s
  11. PRESS-FIT TYPE
Inverted press-fit: the lower (bigger) section has a slimmer cylindrical piece added to the upper end. This spigot press-fits into the end of the upper section. The spigot joint improves the through action of the rod.
  12. DAMAGE AND BREAKAGE INSURANCE
THIS IS FOR YOU, WHATEVER YOUR FISHING TECHNIQUE! Insurance against fishing equipment damage has been designed specifically for your DECATHLON fishing gear. DECATHLON Sports Insurance provides new replacement cover for accidentally damaged equipment covered by the insurance. - purchase value (inc. VAT) on the sales receipt - no excess Caperlan and other brands You can take out our insurance HERE http://www.assurances.decathlon.fr/fr/assurance-peche/4-dommage
  13. CHOOSING THE RIGHT ROD FOR YOUR HEIGHT
It is often said that the longer the carp rod, the further you can cast. But it is mainly your size (and your centre of gravity) which determines how far you cast. For example, if you are less than 1.70m tall, you will find a 13 foot rod less comfortable than a 12 foot rod. It will shift your centre of gravity towards the upper part of your body. Which means it will take more effort to use and cast
  14. IN THE EVENT OF BREAKAGE? CAN THE ROD BE REPAIRED?
After sales service is available at the workshop of your DECATHLON store. Depending on the model, tips are available in the customer support centre.
  15. YOUR ROD BLANK
The term "blank" refers to the main part of a fishing rod, which is often made of carbon or fibreglass. For some of our rods we use the term HM carbon (High Modulus). Put simply, the modulus (expressed in tonnes) is the weight to stiffness ratio of the carbon. The higher the modulus, the lighter the blank and the more resistant it is to constraints such as the force exerted by a fish during the fight.
  16. CAUTION!
Before casting, check that the joints are properly assembled. A badly inserted spigot is the main cause of rod breakage.
  17. TEST BEFORE BUYING
Did you know? In all Decathlon stores your can request a free 7 day loan of a product to try it out, with no obligation to buy.
Product testing
  1. Composition
Structure : 100.0% Carbon fibre (CF)
  2. Storage advice
    Store in a dry place.
  3. Product restrictions
Do not use near to electrical power sources or during storms.
  4. Product catchline
The power of the blank enables long-distance casting of the rig and enables management of very large fish. The fast action promotes transfer of sensations.
  5. Lab tested
The strength of the rod has been tested using rigs 50% heavier than the rated load. However, for optimal performance, it is essential to use rigs suited to the rod's casting weight.
