    Product feature
    1. Crosscontact sole
The sole design is the product of a lengthy research and development process conducted in our laboratories, combined with a special rubber formulation to optimise grip and traction. Given the range of different needs, we are always seeking the best compromise for walking on both wet and dry terrain.
    2. Waterproofing test
Footwear waterproofing test: these boots, which have been tested in the laboratory and the field, have a breathable, waterproof membrane for optimum protection in the rain. First, the boot is immersed in water with pressurised air inside to check that no bubbles form on the surface. Next, shoes are fitted to a mechanical arm that simulates walking and half immersed in water so we can test that the inside remains perfectly dry.
    3. Waterproofing level
During the waterproofing test, we test 3 levels of waterproofing: 2000 flexes (around 4 hours of walking), 4000 flexes (around 8 hours of walking) and 8000 flexes (around 16 hours of walking). Of course, after this test or in use, the shoe regains its original waterproofing once dry. The MH100 Mid waterproof boot passed the test involving 4000 flexes.
    4. Prolonging the waterproof properties
A shoe's waterproofing is often undermined by water getting in from the top of the shoe. To keep your feet dry for longer, we recommend wearing waterproof gaiters or mini-gaiters to protect the top part of the boots and prevent water, pebbles, sand, etc. from getting inside. To restore the original water repellent properties and prevent staining the outer surface, spray with a waterproof spray several times per year.

    6. Buying tips

    7. What shoe size should I choose?
For hiking, try taking one shoe size up from your usual to ensure optimum comfort when going downhill and to prevent your toes from hitting the toe box. Tip: before any descent, make sure that your toe nails are clipped and that your laces are tightened so that your feet cannot slide forwards in the boot.

    • Tight on the toes

      Amanda (United Kingdom)
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Having tried these on briefly at the store after doing click and collect I didn’t at first realise that one boot lace trim is glued oddly which makes the right foot tighter than the left! Tried to send feedback via the app and got an email in French with the UK address - sent again to them and heard nothing until this request for product feedback. Will keep trying to wear them in but would advise others to have a good walk in them before buying, maybe I was just unlucky.
    • Sturdy & lightweight

      Lynn (United Kingdom)
Used for 3 to 6 months
Bought these in November 2017, after spending a while reviewing different brands of boots on the website, this review was done in January 2018.

I tried on a few different Quechua boots & shoes whilst in the shop, some we’d seen on the website, some not... I definitely advise you try them on before buying, as I found the sizes did vary slightly!

I needed a pair with a good toe box, having had a foot operation a few months before, & not liking the toe end of my foot squished. I found these to be more than suitable, & comfortable in the store.

Since getting them home, they have been the outdoor footwear of choice. They are still comfortable, no ‘breaking in’, & still they still look smart, even after trudging through muddy puddles, autumn leaves & the sparttering of snow that the UK experienced before Christmas!! They haven’t let any water in, & rain has formed droplets & run straight off.
The tread is quick thick & has stood up - so to speak! - to all ground types I’ve walked in & on, & I’ve been fine, something I was worried about, having had my foot operation.

      Great boots, great colour.
