    Product feature
    1. THE STORY OF THE ROCKRIDER 520 S MOUNTAIN BIKE...
Entirely designed and developed in France at the B'Twin Village (Lille), this mountain bike is the fruit of the work of an expert team of passionate mountain bikers. The Rockrider team designed and tested the Rockrider 520 S mountain bike with their mountain bike testers.
    2. A UNISEX MOUNTAIN BIKE
Men's or women's mountain bike? The Rockrider 520 S mountain bike is unisex. For greater comfort, the women on our mountain bike team recommend replacing the saddle with the Women's 500 Sport saddle, which is adapted to women's bodies.
    3. HOW DO I CHOOSE MY MTB SIZE?
Several sizes available: S: between 1.50m and 1.64m M: between 1.65m and 1.74m L: between 1.74m and 1.84m XL: between 1.85 m and 2.00 m If you are on the limit between 2 sizes: Choose the smaller size for easier steering (easier to handle) and comfort (straighter back). Choose the larger size for easier pedalling with a more stretched-out position (position more suited to performance).
    4. A FRAME DESIGNED TO COMBINE FUN AND PERFORMANCE
For lower weight, we designed the BTWIN SPORT frame in 6061 aluminium. The result: only 2.9 kg in size M (without shock). Its 120mm rear shocks rest on a monopivot system (more sensitive to small impacts on terrain, while remaining firm during large impacts) and on sealed bearings for a great lifespan.
    5. FRONT SUSPENSION TO CUSHION UNPREDICTABLE TERRAIN
Never again get daunted by unpredictable terrain. With the B'TWIN U-FIT hydraulic fork and its 120 mm travel, you can easily surmount all obstacles (roots, pebbles, stones, mud). Easily adjust the stiffness of the fork based on your weight (55 to 105 kg) by adjusting the wheel on the left damper. Built into the right damper, its quick-release system helps prevent bobbing on smooth sections.
    6. REAR SUSPENSION FOR ADDED COMFORT
We are aware that mountain bike touring requires suitable equipment. That is why our designers fitted the RR520 S with a U-FIT hydraulic spring shock that is lightweight and specifically designed for this frame. You can easily adjust it based on your weight using the Schrader valve, which creates a very good balance between sensitivity and performance.
    7. DERAILLEUR & DRIVE TRAIN: REACH GREAT SPEEDS
3 8-speed chainwheels, or a wide range of 24 speeds! 2 quick shifters on the handlebar. Left (chainwheels): control ascents/descents. Right (speeds): more precise control over your pedalling. In detail: - Triple chainwheels 22, 32 and 42 teeth - SHIMANO TX800 front derailleur - SRAM X3 rear derailleur - SRAM X4 shifters, with speed indicators - SRAM PG820 8 cog cassette, 11 to 32 teeth
    8. HANDLEBAR, STEM, GRIPS: TAKE CONTROL
With its adjustable stem, the RR 520 controls are close at hand. The all-aluminium B'Twin stem is 70 mm (size S), 80 mm (size M/L), or 90 mm (size XL) and can be raised using 5 adjustment intervals: + 0 mm, + 7.5 mm, + 15 mm, + 22.5 mm, + 30 mm. In detail: - Aluminium B'TWIN SPORT "oversize" handlebars are 660 mm (size S and M) or 680 mm (for L and XL) wide - B'TWIN SPORT "soft touch" grips for a good grip and comfortable feel
    9. SADDLE / SEAT POST: COMFORTABLE AND SPORTY SEAT
Since your mountain bike rides will get longer and longer, it is important to have a suitable seat. So our teams have designed the exclusive B'Twin Ergofit Evo saddle. Suitable for all hip sizes, its "hammock" shape is particularly good for sport touring. With a 29.8 mm diameter and 400 mm long, the aluminium B'TWIN SPORT seat post combines low weight and a wide range of adjustments for a more raised riding position.
    10. DOUBLE DISC BRAKES: GET A GRIP ON YOUR BRAKING
No matter what conditions you ride in (dry/wet), the 160mm Hayes MX5 double mechanical disc brakes will provide powerful and progressive braking, even in the mud. Keep control in all circumstances with the TEKTRO aluminium brake levers, which are lightweight and easy to grip.
    11. DOUBLE-WALLED 27.5" WHEELS
Have fun with the 27.5" double-walled aluminium Aero Trail Evo wheels. Their diameter is the perfect balance between comfort and performance. With their 28 spokes, they are lightweight, stiff, and durable.
    12. ALL-TERRAIN TYRES
The exclusive B'Twin All Terrain Light 27.5" x 2.0 tyres have a system of lugs specially designed for all terrain use, to travel with you on any type of surface during your mountain bike touring. Recommendations for pressure based on the cyclist's weight are marked on the sidewalls.
    13. PLATFORM PEDALS
The RR 520 comes with MTB bearing-mounted platform pedals made of hard resin for light weight and safety. If your foot slips off the pedal, there's less risk of injury.
    14. EASILY TRANSPORT AND STORE YOUR MOUNTAIN BIKE
Cycle touring does not start from home; that's why we have made it easier to remove and replace the front and rear wheels. They are equipped with a quick-release system.
    15. Weight
16.1 kg in S without pedals. 16.2 kg in M without pedals.16.3 kg in L without pedals. 16.4 kg in XL without pedals. The weight can vary based on the tolerance of the components. The bike comes with B'Twin platform pedals. The total weight (bike + rider) should not exceed 120 kg.
    16. Accessories
Your RR520 S mountain bike comes with a bell, lighting, wheel reflectors, and pedals. The frame is compatible with: - front and rear mudguards, - stand, - bottle cage, - saddle bag, ...
    17. OUR ADVICE FOR YOUR FIRST RIDE
Tip No.1 When mountain biking, there is always the risk of a fall: don't forget to wear a helmet. Tip No.2 Even if the saddle is comfortable, cycling shorts with a pad (saddle-shaped foam) are a real plus for preventing glute pain. Tip No.3 If you don't want to stop to drink, bring water in a bottle or water bladder to access it while riding. Tip No.4 Punctures are always possible, remember to bring a repair kit.

    • Great bike, but..

I love this bike, although I've only had it for a month or two now, it's awesome for the kind of stuff I do, but it does have it's ups and downs.

It's a brilliant bike for road use, for small mountain climbing and, obviously, very good at absorbing impacts and taking the shock from dips and bumps in trails from it's full suspension. It's got pretty much what you'd want out of a standard mountain bike, except, when it doesn't perform as it should.

I'm not sure if this is to do with this specific model of bike or just mine, but I've noticed that when adjusting the left trigger gear (pedal) to go from 2 to 3, the derailleur seems to get the chain stuck in it, to the point where it's either stuck on two and I need to manually pull the chain up to 3 in a stop, or it comes completely off and gets stuck round the crank shaft for the pedals. This is a hassle and it could probably get fixed if the derailleur gets tuned and positioned a little better to counteract this.

Another thing is to do with what it says on the website about this bike. In the accessories section, it states that it's compatible with a kick stand. *looks around*.. I don't see no kick stand that compatible with my bike. I even went in store to ask a member of staff to show me which kickstand I need, only to come home and find out that it's not the right one. Even showing him which bike it was specifically. Even to the point of mentioning that it's a full suspension bike.

I don't mean to be taking digs at Decathlon for this, but I do hope that I could be pointed in the right direction on to where to get the correct, compatible accessories for this.

Overall though, I highly recommend this bike. It's great for everyday use and the occasional small mountain bike trail.
    • Love the bike but......

Used for 1 week or less
My first bike in 16-17 years and I love it, really can't fault it for the price.

My only problem was with the assembly by the shop worker, handle bars were way off from being straight, the brakes are none existent, not all the gears work and that there's scratches on it as well as a big rip/scratch through one of the stickers on the front end.

Disappointing as I would expect marks and scratches on a used bike, not a brand new one.

And as I was told by the worker that she has to assemble it before it leaves the store so she can check everything over like all the gears working it's disappointing when they don't.

Used for 3 to 6 months
Had bike for about 6 months now not satisfied with the derailiur hanger has snapped 4 times due to bending and snapping this is called a mountain bike if it cant go on trails without snapping then it should not be called a mountain bike
      Response of the brand
      Dear Sir,
I'm sorry to read that the rear mech hanger has snapped off a few times. The hanger is made of soft alloy and is designed to snap is the bike is involved in a crash or a big fall. A rear hanger is considerably cheaper to replace than a damaged rear mech. However, if the hanger is snapping in normal riding conditions there is an issue afoot and if this is the case, please contact yoru local decathlon workshop who will be more than happy to assist. This is a sport trail MTB but not a model designed for jumping or extreme riding leading to a greater risk or crashing.
